If you ever dreamed of professional eyelash extensions, you may not have to go far and empty your wallet any more. That’s what Cindy Ross did anyway. She wanted to have long eyelashes like Kim Kardashian. A single mother of two daughters, and full time cashier, she simply did not afford the nearly $300.00 that most eyelash salons charge for extensions. Rather than break the bank, she decided to try to go with a new concept to Chicago: Mobile eyelash extensions. “They came to my apartment and totally made me over”, said a smiling Cindy.
In February 2009, Asian makeup artist and certified eyelash specialist Jennifer San Juan Launched Chicago Lashes, a professional service that applies eyelash for clients at their homes. “Women love eyelashes”, said the 34 year old Filipino entrepreneur. “Women can have the same kind of eyelashes that celebrities have, applied from the comfort of their living room”. With a cost of only $150.00 for a full set of lashes, she has had to hire new technicians to keep up with business. “I think people just like the convenience of having a makeup artist come to their home to do their lashes,” comments Jennifer.
